6:30am *yawn*

it's 6:30am on my days off and i'm up wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. let me see.. what's new??.. well, i went to the dominican republic (punta cana) for 7 days, that was a pretty good trip. coming from -20 degrees and getting dropped into +35 degrees is quite a shock to the body, but nothing a little 'mamajuana' can't cure. no, no, no.. not marijuana (although a beach vendor tried to sell me some OR cocaine he said. my choice), mamajuana.. it's a local liquor (i guess you could call it that) made in the dominican republic. from what i could gather it's red wine, white rum, and like 23 different "herbs & spices" thrown in a bottle and fermented for some 20 days. i was kind of hesitant to try it at first because it was offered to me off of the resort and into the vendor's "flea market" about 45 minutes away from our resort. the first thing we were told by our travel agent was "DON'T EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING APART FROM WHAT'S ON THE RESORT" but i did anyways, kind of like adam and eve i guess when they were told not to eat the forbidden fruit, but they did anyways. tut tut. oh well, i'm still alive. the food was great down there, the buffet was huge with all kinds of meats, fresh salads, fruits, veggies, breads, desserts! ect, ect, ect, ect... it was amazing. all free booze. it was heaven for 7 days. i got some pretty cool pictures but they are not uploaded to my computer. i'll try to get some up for your viewing pleasure. well that's it for that. i'm off of work for 5 more days now.. i'm going to be so bored. but then i go back for 9 straight (6 of those being nights). it's starting to warm up here now in northern alberta which is nice. this winter wasn't even THAT brutal, considering previous winters. i remember my second winter here, it got down to -55 degrees celcius with wind chill.. that was a ball breaker. ok, i'm rambling, it's still early.. maybe i'll catch some more sleep. oh yeah and i forgot to mention, today canada plays the U.S for gold in men's hockey!!! lets go canada!. canada has got 13 gold medals, 7 silver, and 5 bronze thus far in the 2010 olympics which sits us at 3rd place. i guess you could say we're kicking some fucking ass!!!!
